High School Sports Dayton girls' basketball captures own Pepe/Levee Tournament behind MVP Kuczynski

The Dayton High School girls' basketball team captured its own Pepe/Levee Tournament last week, defeating Mount St. Mary of Watchung 41-32 in the championship game. Sophomore guard Jen Kuczynski poured in a season-high 19 points to pace the Bulldogs, who won their fourth straight to improve to 4-1. Kuczynski was named the tournament's MVP. Sophomore guard Emily MacDonnell netted 14 points, while sophomore point guard Anna Lies and Allie Weber added four each. Continue

Union County LocalSource Seidel named 2009 Volunteer of the Year

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders recently designated Lorraine S. Seidel as the 2009 Springfield Municipal Alliance Volunteer of the Year. Seidel represents the Springfield Chamber of Commerce on the township’s Municipal Alliance. The Springfield Municipal Alliance is annually funded by a grant from the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, through the Union County Department of Human Services, Division of Planning. Union County LocalSource Deer hunt to take place at Baltusrol
